What major marine conservation challenges have been solved, and how?

One easy and good fix for helping with the ocean environment has been the use of moorings at popular dive and snorkel sites.  It is a win win for the boaters, the divers/snorkelers, and the environment.  Putting a well placed and thought out series of moorings in an area can prevent anchor damage to the sensitive coral reef or seagrass bottom. It also makes visiting the site much easier and safer for the boater.
