I'll bring my regs, computer, mask, dive lights and any camera equipment in my carry-on, with most of my other gear in my checked bag. I've considered getting a TSA-approved lock, but only for added peace of mind; I've never had any issues with a checked bag.

We recently went to the Cayman Islands and flew Cayman Airlines. They didn't allow locks, even TSA locks. Don't waste your money.

We take our regs in our carry on and everything else goes in the checked bag. We haven't had any problems.
