Question

Do you prefer diving in cold or warm water? I love diving in warmer waters, I just like to be a little more free and not have a heavy wetsuit on.

I prefer diving in warm water. I have been in both cold and warm and I think warm wins out for me. When I dove in cold water I had to wear such heavy gear that it made the journey a bit uncomfortable. I will say though, both cold water and warm water dives have their own types of environments so it is always fun to dive in each.

same here, I agree that extra gear is a bit uncomfortable, and makes it difficult to move.

Warm!

I don't like the heavy gear.

I don't like shivering for hours, especially from a dive boat.

I like shallow reef dives, staying in as long as possible!

65 is as cold as I care to be in. I only do the 65 because I like to dive in fresh water springs, they are always cold and crystal clear. I much prefer the warm clear water in and around mexico. Just swim trunks and about 6 lbs of weight.

Being a CA native its all I have even known is cold water. I have never been to tropics, I am going to Hawaii this summer and will experience the warm water.  Now, be it cold and all the CA waters do offer some great diving especially the kelp forests. I think it is some of the best diving and yes I am partial. Hopefully HI doesn't ruin this cold water lover.

Cold water diving, anything less than 75 degrees F, is just not enjoyable. I am not interested in diving with a drysuit and my 7mil wetsuit requires so much extra weight.

I dive for enjoyment and cold water doesn't fit the bill.

I only dive warm water now.   Monterey and Channel Islands are too cold for me.   I prefer indonsia, Caribbean, Central American, or mexico
