What's the one piece of gear you own that you couldn't handle diving without?

For me it's my fins! Mares Avanti Quatros are my absolute favorite piece of gear and I'd buy them again without thinking if I needed to.

My dive computer. Much more accurate, especially when doing multilevel diving. Also has an alarm to warn against surfacing too quickly. I feel dive computers make diving so much safer. Happy diving

My Scubapro MK17/A700 Regulator. I want to know I can rely on a regulator and Scubapro gets a thumbs up from me.

Let me please pass on the obvious answers.  My favorite non-necessity is a 13” stainless steel Fiji Stick.  It has lots of valuable uses:  tank banger, pointer, push rod, lobster tickler, drift anchor.  My wife and I both carry them, and we wouldn’t dive without them.
