I prefer boat diving. Better visiibility most of the time. You ride to the dive site instead of burning through gas to get there.

It depends on the site for the most part ive spent more time diving from a boat. But when we lived in California and diving Monterey Bay shore diving was grest.

I like to do boat dives, now if I could find some fun places on shore I would like that, but around here I got to go on a boat. What do you like to dive?

I like both, but if i had to choose one it would probably be boat diving (if it is for a drift dive), otherwise, if i'm going to need to surface swim to a boat, it isn't much different from shore diving. Though, I guess i really only like shore diving because the only time I do it is to look for fossils, and I like fossil hunting, so, i might be biased. (Yes i can also fossil hunt from the boat, but sometimes, only sometimes, i can get sea sick, so shore diving certainly prevents that).

There both good if your in a tropical place but your best bet is to go with a boat they'll take you to a nice reef to dive.

You are missing out if you don't try both. I have had such enjoyable experiences from the shore. In fact the majority of my younger years were only off the shore because I didn't have money for a boat. Shore diving could be an amazing experience and in certain circumstances it actually take more skills then a deep dive from a boat (as an example). As I think of places like Bon Aire or the Cenotes in Cancun, boats are really not necessary. Try them both, you will be a better diver because of it.

Prefer boat (or ship). Just easy logistics with mobility to access sites.

Always like boat diving more than shore, have done a few really good shore dives tho. It would mosre less depend on location and area.
