What's the fishing like after a hurricane?

does it get better or worse? Saw some folks in Texas have been doing well with fishing after Harvey (all things considered) - hoping Irma won't be too devastating to Florida... i'm planning on evacuating to my parents house in Virginia with 3 cats... but i won't leave till about Friday. Hoping everyone will know where Irma will be heading by then... -_-

Pretty good in TX so far! A bunch of redfish and snapper everywhere! Turns up the water .. the places where the bait run, moves..

Tried it here in NC. Seems as though all the freshwater runoff diluted the saltwater to the point where the fishing kinda shut down until enough incoming saltwater improved the salinity. Muddy water here extended offshore several miles.

That's a bummer, I had a feeling that some places would have issues with the freshwater run off... i haven't had a chance to go fishing yet, by now the salinity should be almost back to normal.

Actually the ocean did not taste salty for a couple of weeks after Hurricane Matthew passed through here. It was very strange going in the ocean and not having the water sting your eyes.

In my experience the off shore fishing gets better after a storm down here in Florida
