Have you ever met a diver you didn't like?

Question

I was having trouble the a rear door on my RV. Looked around an saw a couple of SCUBA tanks. I knew I could count on a fellow diver to help me. He did and I was able to connect my RV up to power. Thanks

Just one...I call him Techno-Gizmo Guy.  He had all the latest high-dollar everything from full face mask to Go-Pro la-de-da.  But half his regular gear suffered some kind of blowout and he had no spare anything.  We once went all the way back to dive shop to get him a pair of fins when he blew the strap.  He then jumped in with all his techno-gear and forgot the fins we just went to get for him.  He came crashing into my head at about 105 fsw, trying to get a pic of a lion fish.  He got my hair all tangled up in his camera rig and didn't even seem to notice.

I have always had a pleasant experience with fellow divers. I have had people help me out when needed and I try my best to pass it on as well.

Yes. But only beause he didnt  Care about Any roules. And what he was certified to dive. Didnt Care about buddy check. Or helping. Everybody Else i have met. Scuba diving. Have been wery helpfull. Patient and kind. And a impotant fact. Seems Scuba divers Are a bit crazy....... A good and fun kind of crazy :D

Just a few over the years. One was an Italian Divemaster that was full of himself and only wanted to show off his skills and didnt do his job of supervising that he was being paid to do. The other one wanted to party all the time and would show up with a hangover. Other than these all of the divers I have had the pleasure of meeting over the years have been great.

Yes,  ones that are all bravo and brag a lot.  People who insist that they go to great depths yet forget to follow basic safety rules.  Good divers don't have to impress others just dive safely and not put others in danger.

This one guy on the boat for a fossil charter had one of those sea scooter things to help him get to places faster, he was all decked out in his wet suite and multiple knives etc. and kept talking the talk like he was all that (probably trying to impress his lady friend). Well, on this charter, when you surface, you swim back to the boat. So they typically give you a heading that is against the current so the swim back isn't so bad... well this guy with his scooter thing went the opposite direction and went out pretty far. When it was time to swim back to the boat, he was so whiney that the boat actually had to go pick him up... even though he had a scooter thing he could have used while on the surface to 'swim' back... the rest of us swam back just fine, even though there was some chop. My legs were tired... but I didn't whine about it... anyway, he just rubbed me and my husband the wrong way by acting so touch and then being such a wimp... don't be that guy. (the deck hand on the boat was saying some things under his breath, i could tell he wanted to just leave the guy behind lol). no one on the boat liked that dude.

I think that's relative in any sport. diving for one can be pretty personal, but it's typically based on your interactions. there have been many people that have either been concerned worried or upset. I for one try to do my best to maintain a positive attitude.  There's a lot of stress, especially for new divers, and it manifests itself in different ways. It's easy to be part of the problem and always point out the negative things I always work toward being part of the solution

I enjoy photography while diving. I don't like it when other photographers push in front of me, or when divers kick up sand. I really try to be patient, but I can't tell you how many shots I've lost due to ruined visibility.
Buoyancy control is so important!

Too funny, I shoot video on a stick and my dive buddy shoots stills. Many times Ive seen just what you wrote. Unless we are off to the side other divers will move in front of you killing your shot.
