While diving in Florida once we had three sharks coming towards us. They didn't seem to want to hurt us and their heads didn't show aggression. As we swam on we found a diver feeding sharks. So we got to watch before we swam on to the wreck.

In Belize on the last trip the dive master had a tube full of fish to feed to sharks. They had been around us ever dive but this time the came close enough to pet. While I don't do that another diver did for several minutes.

I haven't been on a dive that was specific to diving with sharks, but anytime you get in the ocean there is a possibility you'll run into them. I've seen white tip reef sharks in Hawaii on two out of three of my two tank dives when I was out there. They are pretty docile and apparently not that common, even though we saw at almost one each dive trip. My favorite so far has been diving off Jupiter, FL and seeing two lemon sharks. One had a hook and fishing line hanging from its mouth. I wanted to help it but he was cruise'n and wasn't planning on hanging around us. Right after seeing those two we saw a huge Goliath Grouper. here's my pics of the shark and the grouper in the distance, and another pic of the grouper much closer... the grouper was bigger than my 6'5" husband.

I was lucky enough to dive 22miles off the coast of Florida. Where there were six or eight groupers weighing 4 to 6 hundred pounds.

Plenty of sharks in Australia. Try night diving with sharks to see them in action

I do not dive as I am not certified yet but I have snorkeled around 8ft tiger and nurse sharks as well as black tips. Seeing a shark face to face was such an amazing experience and I will never forget the first time. I think Rob Stewart put it the best:

"But then, you are finally underwater and you see the thing that you were taught you whole life to fear... and it's perfect... and it doesn't want to hurt you... and its the most beautiful thing you have ever seen.. and your whole world changes"
