An international symposium shoul be formed to ascertain whether or not the ocean should be our garbage dump site for human waste, industrial waste, nitrogen runoffs and ocean liners dumping trash and waste.

Ocean garbage, particularly plastics, is a real and dangerous problem. The ocean gyres are large areas of circulating trash that affect all the earth. Plastics have become like mercury and are being found throughout the food chain. This means we are eating what we threw away. Many organizations, such as Oceana, Five Gyres are quite involved in this problem. Check out the research and the facts and do your part to reduce the garbage that makes its way to the sea.

Absolutely fact. Believe it! Pacific Garbage Patch but one example https://www.nationalgeographic.org/encyclopedia/great-pacific-garbage-patch/

Also, if you have not seen Plastic Ocean, check it out. On Netflix. Very good!

I live at the end of a cannel where everything from everyone up wind ends up next to my bulkhead. I've seen everything from a telephone pole to an entire dock. People throw everything into the water i get it next to my boat, it gets old.

I was diving in Belize and suddenly there was an island of garbage coming at us. A cruise ship must have just emptied their waste. It’s a very real problem. I’ve dived the same reef in Belize for ten years and it’s getting worse every year. It’s not a heavely dived reef so it’s not careless divers.

Very real! I was diving in Belize and saw a floating island of garbage across the horizon. The guide said the cruise ship empty there garbage out to sea so they don’t have to pay.
