Have you ever ran your boat aground, and how did you get it off?

Question

I was coming out of an inlet in Florida when I ran aground. Onboard was my two girls the oldest was around 10 years old. Not sure what I was going to do except putting my daughter at the helm and getting out of the boat and pushing it off the sandbar. I pushed It off and got back in my daughter kept the wheel turn towards the open water.

Thankfully not too often. I think that when i was a kid my dad did so. We waited for the time to come in and lift us off the sandbar.

We did run aground on a sandbar in Barnegat Bay, NJ. My Dad had the kids on board get out and push us into deeper water where we could lower the motor. We were lucky we didn't shear a pin.
