My buddy and I were diving in the Gulf of Mexico and when we got to the bottom, the silt got really bad, created a huge silt cloud making the visibility horrible... had to somehow communicate to my buddy that we need to get around the slit cloud and hover so we don't stir up more silt... used a fist as the "cloud" and my other hand going around it, and thankfully they were able to understand what I meant lol. Sometimes I feel like me and my buddy should learn actual sign language... that would make things a lot easier lol

So my wife taught me the alphabet in sign language. Took about a week. It’s slow, it’s cumbersome, but if you forget your dive slate, and really need to get something technical out, it’s invaluabe.

Hahah, well they are usually inappropriate, but we do have some fun under the water with them.

Most dive masters want to know how much air you have, 1500, 1000, and up with 500. So, understand these. Being able to signal for a Turtle, a shark, or any other interesting observation.
