Definitely prefer weight integrated BCD. They shift the weight slightly closer to your center of gravity, allowing easier trim in the water (weight belts tend to push your legs down). Integrated BCDs will also typically have trim pockets that allow you to redistribute your weight to achieve better trim in the water.

I use integrated all the time when not wearing a wetsuit. If wearing a wet suit I use both incase I have to take off my bcd. If you have all your weight in the bcd while wearing a wetsuit you can have a uncontrolled ascent if your not careful. Plus this way your bcd is not so heavy.

I hate diving a dry suit and have the weight belt slide down. With the Zeagle wicked BCD that I now have with a crotch strap I can float on my back and just relax. Love the integrated pockets.

I use both.... I like it like that. Part bcd and the rest on the belt.
