What are the best tips for photographing sharks & large schools of fish?

I'm going on a dream trip to Malpelo in August, and want to capture images and video of the schooling sharks, presumably from far away. I've previously shot mostly macro, so I'm looking for any tips and tricks. Wide angle or zoom? Strobe(s) or not?

Keep calm, breathe , take the shot!  -All I can add since i'm not a photo guy :)
