I'm a volunteer diver at the Florida aquarium and I love it! Sure it is a glorified cleaning job, certified algae scrubber, but it is so much fun and you get to learn so much about new equipment, training and teqniques etc. I would recommend it for any divers! Sure diving in a tank isn't as exciting as the wild but it is still fun and an excuse to dive!

Any other volunteer aquarium divers or staff? Which aquarium?

I am trying to get information on volunteer diving at a new aquarium in Shreveport LA, they haven't been very forthcoming with information yet. They are scheduled to open this summer.

Cool, hopefully once they get a little established they'll have more information for Volunteers. It can be a lot of trial and error for Aquariums to streamline their volunteer dive programs lol. Good luck!

I mentor kids on marine biology. Will probably dive the aquarium dive team at some point.
