For me it was the surf/waves, I have gotten in a few troublesome moments. It is a matter of timing and awareness and sometimes you win and loose.

The 10 foot thresher encounter was an uncertain moment.

The sea lion pups were cool, but mom was not.

It's better to plan the trip and know your limits - it's not fun to be tired and fighting wind & current for hours at a time.

Being flipped end over front in surf on one of my early attempts at fishing just past breakers.  It was a cheap lightweight kayak.  I felt it coming and bailed but my rod got broken and my reel got full of sand.

Got flipped by an ascending manatee in The ICW so not a big deal.
