Sometimes I do. If I have to hold on to a anchor line and the current is ripping and the boat is bouncing up and down even if you circle your fingers around to let it bob with out moving you up and down you can get hooks and barnacle cuts. Some places do not allow them.

I always wear gloves when diving, never know what you may come across and I like having a layer of protection just in case.

Edit: i have not been to places that don't allow them, didn't know that was a thing. Makes sense though.

Sometimes, especially if we're doing multiple dives in a day or if the water is slightly chilly. If I've got a camera with me, gloves are more annoying than helpful, because I can't feel the buttons on the camera. And as some people have noted, there are some places that won't let you wear gloves, to keep you from touching things you shouldn't. Unless I'm in one of those places that forbid gloves, I often have them in my BCD pockets, in case my hands get cold on the dive.

If allowed I always wear gloves.  It is a safety thing for me.  Wouldn't want to need them and not already have them on.  I do make sure not to touch stuff I shouldn't (which is usually I means I don't touch anything) It also good to have the gloves if you come across trash and debris you want to clean.
