Do you ever use your GoPro for taking stills under water?

No, your best bet is to go with the sealife camera and a video light or a flash.

My wife and I share with the picture taking responsibilities. We were using a Go Pro until the case failed and filled with sea water. needless to say we did not get any pictures from that trip. We now use a Sealife Micro 2 and a light. This camera is completely sealed from the factory. you cant even change the battery. It is recharged by a cord. It takes great pictures especially with a light. The light allows for realistic colors in deep water.

I have and feel it is better suited for video IMO. I am new to the GoPro world so i have limited experience. It does take some getting used to especially underwater.
