Stencil for my slate! Loose them all the time! Before that, my hat. Blew right off my head on the boat. Somewhere in the Pacific is a Manta Ray with a really nice Bronx Zoo cap!

my dignity lol - just kidding.

i've been lucky so far, but I did almost lose my GoPro once. It was on my head and at the end of the dive, it wasn't on my head anymore. My husband and I had 700 PSI we were going to ascend (30ft depth) and i touched my head and realized it was gone, but I had felt it there not that long ago, so I quickly tried to search around me to find it about 5ft away in the sand... it was a close call, now i pretty much tether everything to me that i possibly can tether lol.

Funny how you mentioned GoPro. I lost my GoPro filters in Belize. The waves were 6- 8 feet and getting back on the boat a real challenge. My wife was behind me and had one fin off so she decided not to try to retrieve them. That's $100 gone.

I lose weight every time I go on a dive trip. Lost my booties one time in the rinsing bucket. I think someone took them by mistake.

I have never permanently lost anything, however, after doing the back roll into the water I looked down to see a weight pouch laying in the sand about 20' deep.  It was mine.  :)  When I went to pick it up I found a new lobster catch bag, also mine.  LOL.  Looked like a yardsale on the ocean floor!

On the other hand I have found all kinds of stuff.  Watches, fishing poles, hoop nets and at Lake Powell I found a chrome box anchor at about 60'.  Took awhile to get it up and I still use it on my deck boat here in Canyon Lake.  It will hold 3 boats, no problem.

It's a lot of fun to find stuff underwater and it feels great when it's your own. We are coming your way tomorrow looking for property or a house around canyon lake.  Let having fun and dive safe.

I lost a fin once after a dive. We had a really big group at Vortex springs in Florida and I guess someone got one of my fins by mistake. never found it.

I do not wear jewelry (except engagement and wedding ring) when diving. I could lose it, getting caught on a hood or clothing, etc. , but also not to attract sharks. I don't really mind them, but I don't want to look like dinner either. I wear gloves when permitted to cover up the  rings.

I found a spear gun off the coast of Florida. It had been there awhile. I also found a weight belt.
