What do ya'll usually do to store kayaks during a hurricane?

I kept mine in my family room (which is pretty empty right now because we moved in not that long ago so there isn't really any furniture in there yet... i have a two story house and there is a good chance it will flood from the storm surge, so the kayak will just be floating around i guess. I evacuated from the Tampa area to Virginia on Thursday with 3 cats... hoping that I have a house to come back too and the damages are minimal... but whatever happens happens. My husband stayed in FL to be with his parents who are not in an evacuation zone, and so far they are all ok. Hope it won't get too bad.

We keep ours secured in the garage but recently considered tying them down in the boat which wet have tied down on its trailer

I am very fortunate in that I have a closed in storage area mine fit in.  I just store them in there and don't have to worry about wind.
