I have not personally, but I have seen people do it before. I also remember BWRAF.

B- BCD, make sure it is snug and I usually hit the inflator and check my tank is secured.

W- Weights, make sure my weights are in and zipped up

R- Releases, make sure all releases are secure and working properly

A- Air, make sure the air is on and I take a few breathes from my reg

F- Final check, make sure all hoses, and gear is secure and make sure my suit is zipped and I have my mask, fins, and snorkel secured and jump in.

You can use "F" just for fins...Don't ask how I got past the divemaster that was checking gear also. Just after I put my foot forward to do my entry, a little too late, I didn't see my fin!  I got the nickname of "fins" for the rest of the trip.

No. Safety is very important especially when your life is at stake

While I agree with you about safety. I have seen this happen many times on dive boats when divers are rushing to get into the water. Most of the time one of the crew catches this and turns the tank on. When at DEMA one year I purchased a handle that when the tank is off its red when the tank is turn on its green.

I never did that, but in my NAUI certification class the instructors would turn your air off and harass you in other ways to prepare you for emergencies while underwater. Needless to say, this was not my favorite part of training.

Yes...not jumped in per se but emerged from an underwater habitat. Actually valve was on but tank was empty. My bad assumption...the tank had a leak and had emptied overnight. It was a bad situation but I survived it.

Yes.  And believe me, you'll only do it once.
