I am not certified but did 2 cenotes dives in Playa area (Mexico).  If you like caves/caverns it is fun, but I appreciated being able to see the entrance/exit from all points in the dive and also appreciated knowing there were places to come up for air along the route in case of emergency.  Not sure I would be a big fan of cavern diving where there is one way in and out and the need for lots of emergency/safety gear to ensure you come out alive.  Read way too many stories about bad outcomes with highly qualified individuals doing the dives in those conditions to want to tempt fate.

I read a book called "The Last Dive"...it swore me off cave diving for ever...It simply isn't something I have any desire to do...

I am a technical cave diver and have had two different instructor's  both were good and gave me the trust in myself. The security that I could go into a cave and get out safely. Because I had the proper training. The first instructor I received cavern and cave certification from, and the second I received my technical cave certification from. Plus I didn't skimp on my equipment it was too notch, I didn't want to be in a cave and find I wasn't getting the air I needed.
