How is the cold weather affecting the fishing in your area? Any closures like we have in NC?

We’ve had one closure on the gulf coast.. Rockport and Port Aransas were all closed .. sad to see the fish freeze :(

Also coast guards saved so many stunned sea turtles. So yay for them!

No real fishing that I know if here in Long Island Sound. Coastline very much iced over. In some places to hundreds of yards offshore.

We had a "significant Cold stun" in NC, which caused a closure of the sea trout fishery until June 15. This will allow the surviving fish time to acclimate without being bothered and hopefully spawn during the season (May in NC). It's a proactive response and one which has been done before after these cold events. Sea Trout are the major targeted species inshore in winter here.
