How do you keep your scuba camera attached to the bcd? Is a retractor good enough?

How do you keep yours. Big or small. Is a retractor good enough?

I don't attach mine to my BCD.  I just use a wrist strap that floats that way if I happen to lose it for any reason it simply floats to the surface or in most cases just hovers for a moment or two before heading up to the surface.

If you have a larger setup then most folks do tether it to their BCD using a retractor, but you have to be sure the retractor is as long as your arms extended or you will need to unclip underwater to use the camera well.

I use a spring coiled lanyard with a quick release buckle similar to this one. The buckle keeps everything streamlined when the camera isn't in use, but the coil has plenty of length once you are ready to use the camera. 

I found that retractors don't have enough tension for my camera, so they tend to feed out line, especially when swimming.

Oh, the cameras that I have lost. Cameras and or go pros are really expensive. Once I get ready to jump off, I attach a lanyard and hold the camera. If not, it goes into my ninja pocket that I can confidently secure.
