How to prepare kids for their first dive?

Not technically, because this is something the instructor will do, but more physically & mentally?

If I had one comment, it would be to make it fun. As with any new thing, there are a lot of stressors, so take your time, and apply principles slowly and in a relaxed manner. Here’s a great article on training children, check it out.

SSI had a program called SCUBA Rangers it's a great program. Every student I've had we're ready to be divers.  Everyone who had gone through the SSI program  not only were good divers . Bit they would go back and correct their parents on their diving. One even restarted the dive program at the air force academy

Depends on their age and maturity. If they are 10 or so, hire a personal Dive master to lead their dive. In my experience kids listen to others better than their parents. Make it fun dont get overly protective. Kids are not scared of diving, parents are scared for them. It only natural. Diving is a safe activity if you follow a few simple rules. I hope they have fun and dive for many years to come.
