In 80 degree water, I only wear a full length rashguard (although I have some built in bioprene as well ). My wife will wear either a 3 mm or 5 mm full wetsuit to stay comfortable on multiple dives at that temperature.

I typically were 3 mil shorts with pockets and a long sleeve rash guard mostly for UV protection from the sun when on the boat.

We always wear skins, there are so many thing that can cause one Hell of a rash. The one I hate the most is sea lice.

I always wear a skin just to protect my arms and legs, there are coral that burn the Hell out of you. If the water is cool I'll wear a shorty under the skin. If i know the water is cold but not that bad I'll wear a warm water drysuit made by DUI called a 30/30. Diving cold water in Monterey California I wear a full drysuit.

I always wear a full wetsuit for protection. A 1-3 mil would work well in 80 degree water.
