Buoy or flag when beach diving?

. When beach diving / shore entering. Do you bring a diver flag and set up on sore? Or do you bring a buoy and attach the styring to some lead on the bottom? Or attach it to your self, so it follows you around? Or Any other/ better way?

I use a dive flag that is attached to a buoy that follows me (via a rope line).

I  use a dive flag with a buoy and teather. As long as it’s not to windy out, the system works fine for shore dives. If it’s too deep, I anchor the buoy

I anchor mine and stay within 50 feet. I move it as needed. Dont like to have anythind attached to me that can get tangled especially when visibility is low such as in a lake.

It’s best to have the flag or buoy follow you as you move about.
