How bad do you let your dive equipment get before your get it serviced??

I am a service tech and the equipment i am getting in to service is just in sad shape. They seem to forget its life support.

To be honest I stay up on service on all my gear, it is something that can safe your life underwater, why risk it and skip maintenance on gear that you depend on to keep you breathing. I have seen people do it as well, and I will never understand why they let them go to crap.

Well, if you are suicidal this is a good approach. But, if you value your life, you should follow the manufactures recommended service guidelines.
