Would you rather troll for giants or hunt the flats, and why?

I prefer offshore fishing specifically because of variety. i enjoy the possibility of catching a giant and experiencing an exciting fight filled with jumping and diving. Plus, it is convenient that on a slow day, there are always wrecks, reefs, and rocks to hit on the way back in to catch some dinner on.

I would rather fish offshore as well. I love all the colors and diversity ocean fish have. I think they are also easier to catch on slow days than inshore fish. If I'm not catching anything big, I can throw a shrimp around some rocks and most likely catch a few fish. However, I do like fishing inshore because a lot of the fish are stronger and bigger than reef fish. I think they are more fun to catch but harder. I would probably fish either one if I was given the opportunity.

Don't make me choose, that is cruel!

I love all forms of fishing, and love catching different fish with different methods.  Because I don't always get the opportunity to get offshore, I will go inshore when I have time to fish.  I've been squeezing in "micro trips" on the way home from work for 15-30 minutes.  Just any opportunity to go fishing and take a photo of something new I've caught, or a new way I've caught it.

The key is to make sure your setup matches the fish you are after, so you get maximum sport and fun from every fish!

Tight lines.

Inshore if I'm kayaking. Love to target reds, snook, trout. Offshore if I can find someone with a boat lol

I love the variety of offshore fishing, not just the fish but the fishing methods can include casting plugs to surfacing fish to jigging, to live bait trolling to trolling down riggers and various spreads.
