I always have my snorkel on my mask, we were trained in my open water cert that it can't hurt to have it just in case you run out of air and surface and the water is rough, having a snorkel may help so you don't have to suck down too much water while waiting for the boat to pick you up or something.

I don't carry one. Don't think I'll really need it, if I had too I'd get a foldable one or something.

I have always had a snorkel on me, just one of those things I just got use to. I know a few people that hate them, but I love when you go into the shallow water and snorkel with your gear and then when it gets deep you just put your reg in.

I always keep my snorkel on my mask. There are very few times I don't use it. Even if if just as a prod to get lion fish  in a bag. At the surface I always switch to snorkel to save air I might need. At the boat, if I am handing my gear up I'll switch to snorkel.

Do not carry one. - When i was a diver for Cousteau (richardehyman.com) we had no snorkels...with our SCUBA gear. Might have occasionally used snorkels alone, without SCUBA gear. - BUT no BCs! I was told, leave your BC at home.
