I've seen people use it on shallow dives, but it doesn't seem like it would make a big difference unless you were deep diving, which is when I have used it.

Nitrox is not used for deep diving. the oxygen in nitrox becomes toxic at depth. nitrox has to be analysed before use and a max depth is recorded. nitrox increases bottom time on dives less than 100 ft. I dive nitrox 32 on all shallow dives less than 100 ft. I feel better after a day of diving.

It is personal preference. No matter what you believe in pros or cons, it's up to you.

You are still in gassing and out gassing games.  Be conservative in following profiles and planning.  Either via tables/ computers.   Most bends are caused by no following appropriate plan, pushing the limits.

Nitrox is great for multiple dives in the 50-90ft depth range. It cuts the time that you have to wait between dives greatly. I do not recommend using Nitrox unless your certified and understand the dangers of diving with Nitrox.

I dive it when I go deep but thats the only type of scuba I do. When I dive shallow I am always free diving. From the buddies I have talked to most of them have said the just "feel better" when they dive nitrox, even in shallow dives. This is in reference to a slight discomfort that some people get when diving to depth, usually just after 10m. Seems to be remedied a bit on those that are a bit excessively sensitive to the pressure changes.
