How often have you needed to use your dive knife for something? What did you use it for?

I don't use my knife very often when diving but I have two on me every time I go. I have a small one on my BC and a larger one that i keep on my leg. I've only needed to use the one on my leg once to clean up some fishing line that was caught on some coral. Have you ever had to use your knife, what did you need to use it for?

I always have it but dont use it often. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Ive used it cutting rope to set buoys on platforms for open water certification dives and to remove fishing lines. I think i've used mine more out of the water than in. I use a blunt tip knife and always use it as a screw driver or pry bar etc.

The only times I have had to use my knife was while spear fishing. I hope that doesnt change, but do always carry one just incase.

I love having my knife with me, it adds a little security, I have used it multiple times pulling fishing lines off the wrecks.

A small dive knife is one of the pieces of gear I would never dive without. I haven't had an entanglement or other event that needed a knife but one must plan for any eventuality.

I do use my knife to reset the needle on my depth gauge, preventing fingernail breakage.

I have used it as a tool to trim plastic ties and ropes to make repairs to a nest dive bag or other piece of equipment.

I have also used it for first aid.

I've never had to use my knife in an emergency situation but it is always good to have just in case

I use it for communication (banging on my tank) cutting fishing line and rope.
