I was in the Tahitian islands for two weeks and wanted to dive with Mantas. The dive master told us it was a wasted dive because you rarely see them. After two weeks of me begging, we went diving on a sandy bottom looking for one. All of a sudden, we see one. I just hovered and watched as it came towards me putting on a show. We ended up seeing seven Mantas that day diving off the coast of Bora Bora. My dive of a lifetime.

This is an easy one.  Has to be Rhincodon Typus (Whaleshark).  I been in water with hundreds of them and it never gets old.  If you haven't seen one yet, make it a priority.  It will change your life.  It changed mine forever!

I was diving on a ledge in Eleuthera, the top of the ledge started at 90 feet and it quickly dropped off into the deep blue abyss, and right along that ledge was a school of Bluefin Tuna that were all less than a foot in length. I had always seen videos and pictures of the schools of large tuna but for some reason seeing this school of tiny Tuna was really incredible.

This is such a tough question, as I have encountered so many amazing creatures while diving.  It's one of the reasons I am so passionate about diving.  One of the most memorable encounters was when I was diving off of Moorea, which is one of the Tahitian islands.  Even before the dive, we had a whale breach the surface which was an amazing experience.  However, even more amazing to me was about half way through the dive when a green turtle came up from the sea floor and was almost nose to nose with me.  Its shell had one of the most intricate designs you could imagine.  It looked as if it was painted on the shell.  I only wish I had an underwater camera at the time, because it was almost unbelievable.  Although, as with most things, I can bet no picture would have done the scene justice.  Visibility was perfect as well.  The rest of the dive was fantastic, but the intimacy of this beautiful turtle swimming up to say hi was the highlight of the dive.

Eagle Rays in Cozumel. Amazing because of their beauty, size and grace in the water. Sea turtles are very cool too. So are the sharks. I cant think of any that aren't amazing.
