had a friend who was fishing at night off a pier, he was having no luck so he tied a small waterproof flashlight to his line just above his rig and he actually started catching fish when nobody else was

My friend used the top of an acorn once. somehow caught a fish with it. I, still, to this day, have no idea how.

Many years ago in New Jersey, we would fish for blowfish (Northern Puffers)...which were excellent to eat. They were so prolific and pesky it would be difficult to get through them to catch weakfish or flounder with the squid we were using. We cut strips of white T shirt and used them to catch the blowfish...never slowed down the bite!!!
