Where is the diving better, off the coast of Mexico (Playa/Cozumel) or the other islands (Cayman, Cuba, Belize) ?

For water clarity, nothing can beat Belize!  And the sharks too!  From Bulls in the Blue Hole to Whalesharks at Gladden Spit, probably most likely to see sharks there then any of the others.  Hope this helps!

Sometimes the diving isn't very good.  Poor visibility, fast currents, etc., can decrease the quality of a dive.  My personal experience:  In Cozumel not all dives will be excellent.  But, all the dives will be good to excellent.  You will rarely (maybe never) have a poor dive in Cozumel.

I have been diving many times in all of these locations with the exception of Cuba, and I think that Little Cayman has the best overall diving (water clarity, marine life, etc)  beautiful diving even on the worst days!

Probably the toughest question you could ask a diver. Divers I know or otherwise chat with always have very interesting reasons for any particular dive. Underwater photographers love the shallow reefs in the Virgin Islands. More technically trained divers like the caves and denotes of Mexico and Central America, fish I D'ers like the amazing diversity if Palau and Fiji. Some Divers with an historic search for and breach antique shipwrecks.

There seems to be a favorite place for evrryone

All boat trip diving in Cozumel is drift diving. Drift diving is fabulous, you dont even have to kick. You enter the water and the boat follows the group's bubbles and picks you up at the end of the dive. Visibility is fantastic, water is warm, the reefs are stunningly beautiful. The people are so friendly and most of them speak English. We stayed at Playa Azul Golf and Scuba. All inclusive except for diving but the diving is very reasonable. 2 tank dive was $70. Turtles, Eagle Rays, Parrot Fish and tons of other fish. Most laid back dive trip/vacation I have ever been on. Not to mention they have free unlimited green fees at their Jack Nicklaus designed course for days you dont dive. Bluedreamcozumel, com check it out.

I like to take my time when I dive, hang out and see what may show up. Drift dives are fun, just feel like I am zipping past everything too fast. I am a slow moving diver.
