Off Kona drifting in open water at night while hanging off a weighted down line 45 feet under a Jack's Diving Locker dive boat with 3 other divers (2 on port side & 2 on stbd) in 5000 feet of open ocean. The dive is called "Pelagic Magic" and the diversity of marine life seen is incredible! I highly recommend this exciting and unique dive. Mind blown!

I have to agree with this.  My wife and I did the Black Water Dive in Kona.  Absolutely the best night dive.  Pelagic and bioluminescence life at its best!  Good answer.

We were diving the channel islands off the coast of California. We came a cross an Octopus and he went to take off I put out my hand when he touched it he came to a stop. I love my hand and he would move. It was like he was kidding under my hand.  Then we ran across the largest scallop bed Ive ever seen. Stopped taking abalone and started taking scallops. Great diving just cold water.

Too many years ago, in the Keys no gear except a mask & snorkel off the ramp close to our motel. We were out with small bags to acquire fish for a local aquarium shop. Instead of fish, we followed a trail of $20 bills. We found about 30 of them and called them "Jackson" fish!

Back in 1998, me and a buddy had just completed our open water certification in Akumel, Mexico, we were with another buddy who was an experienced diver. The house we were staying in was right on the beach so we got fresh tanks and lights after dinner and decided to head out when it was dark. It wasn't a deep dive because the reef was right off shore, but it was a long dive. We saw so much stuff that night including turtles, sharks, eels, rays and a very friendly octopus. I still have that light  it goes on every trip with me.

2000, Roatan , Honduras. It was a boat dive. During the dive a large Moray, joined us. He learned quickly that where ever we pointed our light was a snack. Beautiful clear water , with full moon that you could actually look up and see from 30' down..

Roatan, Honduras, beach dive in front of CoCo View resort. Great bioluminescence! Also a nice night dive with turtles and octopus off a dock in Cozumel where we had gone diving earlier that day so we were familiar with the terrain. I prefer to be led on night dives or go in a location I am familiar with.

Sea wall in Okinawa near Camp Foster MCB.  Great sea life and reefs all within yards of the sea wall and no boat needed.
