I fish mostly artificial baits now so I use a good barrel swivel connecting my main braid line with a 2 foot section of fluorocarbon leader. I use the swivel because I never know what I might decide to throw during the trip and if I use a spoon this will prevent line twist. I sometimes use a double setup on the leader using dropper loops to attach a couple of different baits. The swivel makes it easier to tie and untie the leader while I'm in the water fishing if I want to switch back and forth from single lures to doubles.
