When diving in the water and hiking/camping on the land, I pick up trash.  I don't make a show of it, but it is interesting how heads turn, and how others join in.

I also organize and participate in shoreline cleanups.  These are not just good for cleaning, there are great for awareness building and education.

I like this answer, be part of the success, not part of the problem.

As a teacher I do my best to talk about ocean conservation and educate them about pollution (particularly plastic), sustainability and how just simply spreading the word can make a huge impact. Every Friday I do an "Ocean Fact Friday" which just simply means I will pick out something about the ocean (fish, cephalopod, cetacean, etc..) and try to show them the beauty of these animals and how they interact within their ecosystem. It might also be depressing information such as shark finning or activities like The Cove.

I try to make it a point to teach friends and family about ocean conservation topics that they may not be aware of. For example, my brother's family used to release balloons on the anniversary of his birth and death. By pointing out the dangers to marine life with this practice, they no longer do it. I constantly share things on Facebook and other social media outlets that help to show beach lovers how to be safe in the water, as well as keep marine life safe with their actions. Since we are now back to having offshore oil drilling on the table, this has been a focus of mine as residents here who frequent the beach, and have never lived in an area where the oil industry is present, are unaware of what their backyards will look like with the oil infrastructure that accompanies the industry.

Respect for our planet through education and connecting the impact that it can have on them. Unfortunately most people don’t care unless it effect or impacts them. Getting individuals information in a digestible manner that is not caustic or shocking, as I think people are over loaded with shock tv these days. And if it’s one person at a time. Then so be it.

Conservation tips. Again kind of broad... Conservation tips could be:

- Education

- Proper disposal of waste (sewage, plastic, garbage)

- Fishing regulations to prevent overfishing and factory-fishing
