Fortunately I have never gotten seasick. My wife on the other hand would get sick regularly until she started taking ginger capsules. She would take several a few hours before going out on the boat, then take some while out every couple of hours. This helped her tremendously and did not cause the sleepiness associated with a lot of motion sickness medications.

Keeping my eyes on the land or on the horizon has always worked for me.  I know lots of folks that have started using patches to help if you have bad seasickness and they seem to help them.  If you take any pills you need to do it before there is a problem.  SO if you were on a liveaboard that might be tough.  Patches might be more effective for a liveaboard.

Bonine. I prefer the natural version of Bonine. - Always look at the horizon. Do not look down. Don't read anything. Try and avoid fumes. Hydrate (water).

Bonine the night before and the morning of the dive. Never been sea sick doing this.

I had to admit that boat diving was going to be much more fun without worrying about seasickness. I've used OTC products very successfully (Bonine, etc) for day trips, two-tank dives, whale watching. For overnights/liveaboards I've now started using prescription patches, good for 3 days, and have had absolutely no problems. The overnight thing was very risky for me until I used these. Ask your doctor for scopolamine.

I get sea sick, so diving and being on a dive boat can be fun. I take dramamine several days prior to the trip, so it's in my system for the dive.  Also, hydrate and again looking at the horizon.

Eat a good meal before the dive, keep looking at the horizon, don’t ever close your eyes or lay down, and of course a little Dramamine helps.
