If I'm 5'9" what length should my paddle be?

8"-10" above your height. Depends on what type of paddling you do. 10" for flat water, 8" for whitewater. Some racers like to go shorter too. Be aware of your board thickness and how far above water you are, an inflatable will put you higher out of water compared to a hardboard with a lowered standing area.

Hippostick and Quick blade have charts on their website. Best thing to do is buy a quality adjustable paddle and dial it in before ordering a one piece. Danny Ching just put out a really good video on paddle selection.
