You see a diver setting up their tank backwards, what’s the best way to help them get it corrected

I start with a disarming comment that won't embarrass:  "I've done that a hundred times, can I save you an extra step?"

The best I've heard is say "air to the hair" . They will not not get it wrong again.

I usually wait until they get to the point when s/he realizes that something doesn't fit together.  Then I step in and show how to correct the problem.
