I use a St Croix Inshore Mojo rod paired with a Penn Spinfisher V reel. I generally throw jigs, bucktail and/or other shaped with soft plastics on them. I have found that the action of paddle tail plastics is better in my part of the fishing world. I try to use natural colors on the plastics, and I have used Egret Baits, Salt water Assassin, and DOA with about the same success. I also have caught trout on shallow runner DOA Baitbusters in more natural colors..a dark back and light bottom. Good luck...you have some beautiful big fish in Texas.
