Mine was a huge Goliath grouper. No idea how big it was but it was certainly longer than 6ft and had such girth! It was incredible

Was doing an amazing trip on a 50 foot sailboat in Roatan Honduras and had a whale shark go under us. Was longer than the boat! Had to jump in and swim with it. Truly a great experience! So majestic and gentle. Will never forgot that experience!

Manta rays on a night dive in Kona, Hawaii.  There had to be about 15 of them dancing around in our flashlights.

For me it would have been a giant sea lion who followed me though the kelp. I was spearfishing and noticed a large dark shadow in the corner of my sight. At first it startled me and once I realized what it was I was ok.  Could have been worse.

That's awesome! Much better to see one of those rather than a great white!

I would think it had to be a Tiger Shark 15-16 feet long at Grand Bahama Island.

I have also seen some very large Groupers, 400-600 lbs, a six ft + Souther Stingray and a 6-7 ft Leatherback Turtle.

Hmmm. Largest for me would be a huge loggerhead. Haven't been on many fives but that turtle was a beast

For me It would be a Goliath grouper also. I have seen some Spotted Eagle Rays that were really big too.

Nice! The spotted eagle rays I've seen were on the small side but I know they can get big! I would love to see a manta ray one day!

Up until this past February, the largest animals I'd seen on a dive were the whale sharks off Isla Mujeres in Mexico. It was so exciting to get to swim with them!

Then in February, I was diving off French Cay in Turks & Caicos when our group saw a humpback whale and her calf. We all swam out into the deep blue beside them for several minutes, and it was an incredible experience. Magnificent animals! (Photo of one of the two here.)

oceanic manta rays. absolutely amazing, if they swim over you they completely block out the sun.
