Is a rudder on a kayak useful for paddling?

I got a Vibe SeaGhost 110 and it came with a rudder and at first I didn't think it would be helpful but after using it a few times in the wind or in a current, i've been pleasantly surprised in how helpful it has been to keep me tracking straight while paddling when it is a little windy. I don't have to put as much effort into turning using my paddling skills. Wanted to know what other people thought of it.

I had one and never used it.

I have one and find it extremely useful with wind, chop, or current. The foot pedal steering is clutch but not 100% critical, any rudder will help!

I don't think so since you can easily navigate with the paddle. I think the only ones that really use the rudder is the foot paddle types.
