Do you like the hard seats or the soft seats? I love the hard seats but, I currently have a soft seat and I am trying to find a hard seat to fit, I have to retro fit my Vibe Kayak Skipjack 90.

Awesome to see another Vibe owner! I have the Vibe SeaGhost 110, and I love the hero seat that comes with it (is that considered a hard or a soft seat?) Either way, it works great for me so far. Are you part of the Vibe Tribe on facebook? they do a good job of helping folks out with ideas for modifications. Saw someone mod a SeaGhost to fit an Ascend swivel seat... i'm sure they'd have some suggestions for your Skipjack.

Awesome, glad to hear another person from the vibe tribe. I have followed but have not posted yet, thanks for the information.

I definitely prefer a padded seat.  I think a hard seat is probably more supportive for long day of paddling but a padded seat is definitely more comfortable after a while.  I'm also pushing 50 so comfort is more important to me.  Not sure if padded is what you mean by soft.

If I fished from my kayak, I might want a back. Since I do not, I find sitting on a PFD is perfect. Plus, I feel I get a good core workout from this configuration which I can do for several hours.

For long trips 4 hours plus soft seats for shoet times I don't care.
