I do not, unless I am in rough waters, I can balance pretty well and have not had any problems on the board I have.

When I'm in a completely enclosed and well known area - like my marina or the lake I live on, I do not.
The rest of the time, yes, just because it's easier to reclaim should I fall off - which has seldom happened.

I do. Even though I'm pretty confident, you're only one large wake away from a fall and boards are too expensive to be chasing!

I do always wear my leash. Perhaps not necessary but a good best practice. Not an issue.

Always, even on a river but only with a quick release leash or rescue vest that has a quick release. Leashes on Rivers can be deadly, a quick release leash or rescue vest w quick release is the only exception when on a river. I use both together and On top of that double quick release set up I also Sometimes use a plastic s biner clip rated at 25lbs. It can break easily if I’m unconscious and trapped by the leash.

When doing Freestyle tricks a leash can get all wrapped up around your legs. Freestyle is usually done in very calm conditions where it’s not likely the board would get away and you could swim to shore if it did.
