What is a good all purpose rod for surf fishing?

medium action 7-8 foot rod.  You want it as light weight as you can afford.  When casting for long periods of time the weight will make a difference.  If going for bigger game, you want a longer 10-12 foot rod but the weight is still important.

I like Tica's Dolphin Surf 9 foot Rod as an all purpose selection. You can fish bait and do some plugs with it too.
