For saltwater? I use silver or gold spoons, or spook jrs, bone colored..

I like trying to match the lures to whatever the fish are feeding on. Off the NJ surf, it's anything that imitates sand eels, bunker (menhaden), spearing, or mullet.

I agree with Piratekelli, silver and gold spoons are great choices. A lot of people like Hopkins lures and Gotcha plugs. I've also had great success with jig head and Berkley Gulp grub tails
