No big deal let it out and enjoy the day. If you can prevent it it is the better option. I prefer Bonnine over other OTC methods.

bonine is great. I take it the night before and the morning of the dive. I never get sick. its a lot better than dramamine. Bonine doesent make you drowsy.

There's always shore diving! ;-)

But seriously, i found that eating well before going on the boat to dive, i tend to not get sea sick... if I'm on an empty stomach, sometimes I get sea sick... don't know why, and it usually happens during the surface interval between dives. Once i'm back in the water i'm fine though.

If there is a very bad swell, and the waves are really choppy, that can certainly trigger it for me too. I just try to close my eyes or focus on a point on the boat... if that doesn't work, like someone else mentioned, just do what you need to do, and typically feel better right after that.

I did a night, boat dive.  The water was choppy and the boat was listing.  Found that laying down on your back and closing your eyes worked pretty well

For me personally...

I take care of my gear quickly, then keep my eyes on the horizon.

I like to ride on the bow of the boat.

I stay out of the diesel exhaust.
