What are the best online tools you use for fishing?

I'm aware of the usual fishing log, tide, and map apps, but is there anything else that is really cool out there online that you use for fishing? What are your go to apps?

One of the coolest apps I've seen if you aren't on a boat with a depth / fish finder is called "Deeper". It let's you "cast" out a bobber-like device that emits sonar and sends fish, depth, terrain, etc imagery back to your phone. Really cool for kayaking, paddle boarding, etc. Check it out here.

I also saw an ad for FishAngler in South Florida recently - Looked it up - Looks cool (social network for fishermen, logging, species info, etc), but not sure if it's any good.

I believe that forums are a great way to learn opinions and info about fishing. I think getting info from a real person is better than any app. Getting info from locals is a great way to learn fishing techniques for areas you are not used to. They will have more experience and knowledge about the area, and more than an app.

However, if you are interested in an app, I would recommend Fishbrain. The app really helps in locating spots to fish that have fish. The way it works it that people put in the time and place they caught a fish. It also has the species they caught. If you get the premium version it comes with what lure they used.

Overall, it just depends on what you're comfortable using and what devices you have.

If you couldn't tell I'm definitely a forum guy.  Bloody Decks has various forums within their site dedicated to different types of fishing, different locals around the world.  I will ask questions and post to that site on some of my favorite haunts as well as scout areas through the forum prior to a fishing excursion.  Real time info and local know how can't be beat.
