What artificial lure has caught you the most fish inshore, and what kind of fish?

For Saltwater/Inshore. Just curious on what kind of lures tend to catch the most fish. Let me know types, colors, and retrieve styles! I've recently been having some luck with some suspending twitch baits, white with red head, or mullet imitation colors... lady fish, and a small snook... what works best for you?

This has varied for me in NC. This year, the flounder like a 1/2 ounce Spro bucktail in white with an Egret baits 3 1/2 inch root beer colored chub minnow on it. For some reason the root beer is the color, as is the length.I have tried the 5 inch in root beer with no success in the same areas. Previous years, a 3/8 ounce jig head with either a saltwater assassin shad pumpkinseed with a chartreuse tail, or a dark colored shad tail on the same jig have worked. Both lures were fished very slowly along the bottom with occasional twitches, with current on a outgoing tide. I cast to a shallow sandy area and work the lure off this into the deeper channel. Those lures have also caught trout this year.I have also caught  Trout in my area with DOA Baitbusters now and last winter. The shallow runner using a steady retrieve with the current in Pearl/Black back has been the most consistent color.

Very informative, and even though you are in NC i'm sure some of those tactics would still apply here, i'll have to give it a try and let you know! I found luck with the new penny color, similar to root beer, i think my retrieve has been off recently though (or there just weren't fish around where i was, which is possible lol)

It may be the vibration of the tail that is the key. The Egret seems to have more vibration than the DOA CAL..which I have also used. The tail is a little thinner and I think this gives it more vibration. Other fishers have great luck with Gulp shrimp on a jig, which has really no vibration to it. If we could figure this out we would be catchers and not fisherman!!! Good luck!!! Where are you located??

I'm on the west coast of FL, lots of inshore fishing here, just don't have much access to where the redfish have probably been (no boat) but now that it is getting colder they will start to retreat back to the shallower waters along the coast and creeks/canals so hopefully i'll get lucky eventually. I hear gulp shrimp on a jig works well but it is probably because of the sent it has. I'll have to give the Egret a try sometime.

I use a jig with a zman paddler z- white. ( trout) or a super spoon junior ( bone colored) for reds.

I hear the Zmans are good, i need to try them out, but right now i have more than enough DOA CALs to start my own shop... ok maybe not that much, but i figured i should go through those first before buying anymore soft plastics lol. I'm assuming spoon = spook - i heard the bone color is the best, i need to pick one up, right now i only have the red head with white body one.

The acme kastmaster has caught me the most fish inshore in the long island sound. This lure catches anything from porgies to striped bass to blue fish and seabass. The falshy metallic colors attract fish. Also when I travel to the carribean, I use kastmasters and I have caught pompano, barracuda, and many types of Jack's from shore there.
